1. Researching an audience who could benefit from joining or buying your products
2. Choosing low competition keywords that connect you with the audience
3. Writing an article that is optimized for the Search Engines and Visitors
4. Submitting your article to an article directory
5. Repeating the process

Free Traffic & affiliate marketing commissions

Article marketing provides all marketers an opportunity to generate a ton of free traffic from the major search engines. This free traffic then generates referrals and commissions for you.
Here is a scenario that will help put the power of Article marketing into perspective for you:
Let's assume you are able to write 5 articles every week, and once these articles get listed in the search engines (using the techniques we teach you) they receive 5 clicks each per day on average. That works out to 25 free clicks a day after just one week. Consider if you do this for 1 month, that means you will have 20 articles pulling in 100 free clicks a day.

If you were doing pay-per-click, this targeted traffic would likely cost you at least $50-$75!
If you can get 65% of your visitors to click through on your Affiliate link, you will be getting about 65 clicks a day to our home page. And because most people who register to promote a product finds that their site is free to join, many affiliates at Most affiliate sitesconvert clicks into subscribers. You can see that writing 5 articles a week for 1 month could potentially earn you $thousands every month forever!

LESSON ONE TASKS:

1. Read the Article Marketing Getting Started Guide.

Lesson Two: Research & Finding Keywords
In lesson 1, you learned about Article marketing and how it will allow you to drive free traffic from the search engines to your affiliate link. In this lesson we are going to focus on finding HOT article marketing keywords to promote your site or affiliate links. We'll show you how to connect with the "right" audiences who are frantically searching for product you are promoting..

Finding Low Competition Keywords
Finding the right audience and low competition keywords is one of the first steps that you will take when creating an article marketing campaign for Build a biz Online.

Example Audience:

As you know finding an audience that is late in the customer purchase lifecycle will give you high conversion rates.

Let's take the keyword "Make Money Online".

This keyword may seem like a good keyword to promote, but it is NOT one that will connect you with an interested audience who are ready to buy. People who search for such a keyword have no idea what they are looking for yet. These people are early in the buyer purchase lifecycle and need to do many more searches before they find that they're after.

Someone may start with "Make Money Online", then search:
"Make money selling products online"
"Make Money Internet Marketing"
"Top Internet Marketing Products"
"Best Internet Marketing Social Networking Site"

At this point the buyer will be very close to finding Build A Biz, or another site that is similar to Build A Biz Online. They may even find Build A BIZ Online from typing in "Best Internet Marketing Marketing System Site"
===> "Build A Biz Online" or another Internet marketing Marketing System site

This is where you want to start targeting your audience. Once they have figured out that they want to sign-up to an Internet marketing program, they are only a few searches away from making an informed decision.

There are many sites and forums available online that position themselves as being similar to Build A Biz Online. You can utilize this HUGE traffic source to your advantage and let people who search for a similar product know about Build a BizOnline.

Keyword Research Tools:

There are many tools available to help you research keywords, and one of the best ones is provided by Google and is absolutely free.

The Google Keyword Tool can be found here:

We highly suggest that you try using the Google keyword tool to help refine a broad keyword like "make money online", to a more "niche" keyword like "best internet marketing social networking site".
Calculating Competition for a Keyword

Finding out how much competition a keyword phrase has is VERY easy, and it doesn't require any special software or tools. All you need is to open up Yahoo.com and search for your keywords in "QUOTES". The ultimate goal for an article marketer is to find keywords that connect with a relevant audience.

If a keyword has less than 20,000 listings, there is a very good chance that your article will get listed on the first page of results when someone searches for that phrase. Ideally you can find keywords under 5,000 search results, but under 20,000 will usually be fine.

By searching for keywords in "QUOTES" Yahoo will give you an idea of how many other websites they have in their database that are saved under the EXACT same phrase. As long as the results are less than 5000 for a keyword phrase in Yahoo, you have a very good chance of getting your article listed on the first page of results.

A Good Keyword vs a Bad One (Relevancy & Competition)
For article marketing, there are two aspects of keyword research that make a keyword "Good" or "Bad".

Aspect 1 - Relevancy
If a keyword connects you with an audience who are searching for something that Build A Biz Online offers, the keyword is relevant and thus, a good choice. Keyword relevancy is not the only thing to consider when article marketing however. This brings us to Aspect 2.

Aspect 2 - Competition
In order for a keyword phrase to get clicks, you need to get listed in the search engines on the first or second pages of results when a search is done. There may be many keywords available that connect you with relevant audiences where there are well over 5000 pages listed already. Getting a first or second page listing while focusing an article on a keyword with more than 5000 natural listings is not impossible (we have seen people achieve article listings over 50,000), but it can be tough. The lower the competition, the easier it will be to get listed.

Competing Product Keywords:
Writing articles that focus on product keywords connects you with an audience who is very late in the buyer purchase lifecycle. Let's assume that "Product A" claims to offer a similar service that we offer at Build A Biz Online. Someone who is looking for information on "Product A" will do a search in Google with the product's name in it. Here is a tiny list of product keyword searches someone may look for:
  • product A review
  • is product A a scam
  • comparison of product A
  • product A website
  • where to get product a
  • product A homepage
  • product A information
  • product A scam
  • product A discount.
Writing an article that focuses on "product A" keywords and recommending Build A BIz Online within that article will get you very high quality traffic. You are giving people exactly what they are looking for if you take this review-style approach. You review product A, then recommend Build A BIz Online as a better option. This is highly ethical because Build A Biz Online is like nothing else out there and will truly help someone (Cheap price to join!). There are loads of scammy products available on the NET, and if you can help someone steer clear of one of them and join Build A BIz Online instead, you've done them a great service.

IMPORTANT, IMPORTANT, IMPORTANT...

The most common question that new article marketers ask is whether they choose keywords based on traffic estimations by keyword tools.

The answer to this is NO. DO NOT choose your keywords based on traffic estimations. ALL keywords that are relevant to your product and connect you with a specific audience are good ones. Some keywords may only get searched for a few times a month, but that does not mean that you should ignore them. All of the keyword tools out there, including the Google Keyword tool, do not keep precise track of low traffic keywords that get searched for infrequently.

There is a common misconception that a good article marketing keyword needs to get lots of traffic based on keyword tool estimations. WRONG. Choose your keywords based on relevancy and competition, not traffic.

Preparing for Lesson 3 - Sign-up to EzineArticles.com

Before moving on to lesson 3, you are going to need a free account with an article directory called EzineArticles (EZA). EZA is one of the most popular article directories online in the eyes of the search engines. For this reason, we highly suggest submitting your articles here before anywhere else. Getting a top listing with a highly optimized EZA article is quite easy.

LESSON TWO TASKS:
1. Read the Market Research Tutorial
2. Read the Customer Purchase Lifecycle Tutorial
3. Find 15 low-competition article marketing keywords for promoting BABO
4. Set-up an EzineArticles.com account.
5. Write Your First 3 Articles (choose any from your list of 15)

Lesson Three: Writing Your Articles

When it comes to writing articles, you have the freedom to use your own knowledge of the audience to write something compelling. The goal of every article is to get listed in the Search Engines such as Google, Yahoo, or MSN. To achieve a listing on the first page of search results for a certain keyword requires a few optimizations that we are going to outline below.

Number of Words

Every article that you write for the purpose of Article Marketing needs to have a minimum of 500 words (500-700 words is ideal). The rule of thumb when it comes to SEO and getting listed is: the more relevant content you have, the more the search engines will like you!
Google and Yahoo have very complicated algorithms that determine which web pages are served when a search is done. These algorithms determine the "Quality" of an article, and they index accordingly. 500 words per article provides the search engines with enough content to determine that your words will be of value to their visitors.

Keyword Density

When writing an article for Build A BIz Online, you want to focus on a specific keyword so that the Search Engines realize that the main topic is that keyword phrase. We suggest having your "target" keyword phrase within your article at a 1-2% density. Out of 500 words, this means that you will have the exact phrase that you want to get listed under on the page 5-10 times.
For example, if your target search term was "make money internet marketing", you would have this exact phrase within your articles content 5-15 times. As you gain experience you will find your magic number.

Keyword Phrase Placement

When the Search Engine spiders visit (crawl) your article, they place higher importance on certain aspects of the formatting. For instance, the "Title" of your article should have the exact keyword phrase within it. Also, the headline of your article, and the first paragraph need to have the keyword phrase in it too.

There are two parts to creating an optimized article.

Part 1 - For the Search Engines: The article itself (the text) needs to be a minimum of 500 words and focus on your target keyword phrase at a density of 1-2%. On top of this, you need to make sure that the supporting content and the topic of the entire system is highly relevant to the target keyword phrase.
When the spiders crawl your page they look for the most common keywords. They will quickly find your target keyword phrase as it is repeated on the page 1-2% of the time. The spiders will then look at the rest of the content to determine if it is relevant to the target keyword phrase. If there is a relevancy connection, then your article will get stored in the Search engine database tagged with the focus keyword you've chosen.

Part 2 - For Your Visitors: Your submission to the article directory of your choice needs to be optimized for your visitors. This means you need relevant headlines, content, and be appealing. If you cannot connect with your audience, they will not be interested in anything you have to offer.
A few things work well in this respect. Offer the visitor an interesting and relevant story. Talk to them as though you would a friend or family member.

As you can see, writing articles needs to be optimized for both the Search Engines, and your Visitors. Once you learn how to do both, you'll be taking full advantage of Article marketing to drive FREE referrals to

Build a Biz Online

Article Checklist:
Once you have written your article and submitted it to an article directory, you need to make sure that you have followed our guidelines. The following checklist will help you to make sure you have not left out any key aspects to creating an optimized article.
  • has 500 words
  • density of "target" keyword is 1-2%
  • target Keyword phrases are in the headlines and title

LESSON THREE TASKS:

2. Submit Your 3 Written Articles to EZA
3. Come up with 10 more targeted keywords
4. Write 5 articles

Lesson Four: Creating Review Style Articles

Review Style Articles
Creating your article into a review-style will allow you to target product related keywords. Most people who search for information on products and services online love comparisons and reviews. If you offer this kind of information within your articles, your visitors will not need to search elsewhere.

Here's how your articles could be structured:

Paragraph 1 - Relevancy, connect with your visitors by using the keywords within your text explaining to them that they have found the "Right" place to learn about.... Example:

"Is PRODUCT A really a Scam?" - Followed by a paragraph about PRODUCT A and how your rank it.

Paragraph 2 - Your credibility. Why do you care and why does your "take" on this product matter.
Paragraph 3-6 - An explanation of the product and it's pros and cons.
Paragraph 7 - Your conclusion and your take on the industry. This will prelude your promotion of M
Build A Biz Online or if you are allowed affiliate links, you could drop your link here.
With article marketing and PPC marketing choosing your keyword phrases is KEY to success, so choose keywords that target other product keywords.

For instance keywords like:
"review of PRODUCT A"
"PRODUCT A scam"
"PRODUCT A book"
(these like all have VERY low competition by the way.. hint, hint...;)

So, essentially, you're going to be connecting with people looking for information on other products, and you'll recommend they check out Build A BIz Online. Obviously you want to focus on quality, but quantity is also important with your article marketing efforts.
We always recommend creating an article marketing schedule for yourself so that you can follow this and build it into your weekly tasks.

For example:
If you create a weekly goal to research 5-10 low competition keywords on Sunday evening, you can then write 5-10 articles during the week in your free time. Maybe you are a full-time Internet marketer and can do this at anytime during the day. Or perhaps you are someone who can write an article during lunch time at work. Coming up with a schedule that you follow will play a huge role in your success.
Think outside the box...there are a ton of keywords out there and you can be creative with your marketing. If you work full-time at this, there is no reason you could not get 5 articles out per day.
